Brian Post # 11

First of all, I forgot to mention that the new book we are reading is Of Mice and Men. Of course, that was also in our very first post describing the reading materials, but here it is for your convenience. Alright, I am definitely enjoying the writing style of this book. I have read some of Steinbeck's books, and I really like how descriptive they are. I like theme. I enjoy reading books that have been written a long time ago, because it's interesting to read stories that were created in these different cultures and time periods. I'm enjoying the plot of this book so far, but it's kind of hard not to read ahead since this book is so short in comparison to books I've read recently.
The ranch is a pretty harsh place. I'm not sure whether this is making a statement about culture during this time period, or if it's just for the plot of the book. George reminded Lennie again about the spot at the river, once again hinting at the fact that there will be trouble, but that's just a part of the plot. Without it, it wouldn't be as exciting. That's how basically every story works. The characters in this book are certainly quite interesting. Each one of they definitely adds a nice touch to the story.
I'm guessing based on the size of the book and its plot at its current point that the whole of this story takes place on the ranch. They' probably end up running to the meeting spot and then going somewhere else from there.
Great book. Can't wait to see what happens next.
